Two Mississauga men charged with home renovation scam in Toronto

Toronto police say they’ve made two arrests in connection with a home renovation scam making the rounds in the city.

The suspects went door-to-door between March and September.

Police say the pair used deceptive and high-pressure tactics to get roofing and masonry jobs.

The suspects were paid, but the pair are accused of never completing the projects and often damaging victims’ property.

Both have since been arrested.

Dominic Ward, 30, of Milton, has been arrested and charged with:

  1. 2 counts of Fraud over $5000
  2. Mischief/Damage to Property not Exceeding $5000
  3. Mischief Over $5000
  4. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000

He appeared in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue W, on Friday, October 6, 2023, at 10 a.m., in room 107.

John Ward, 23, of Milton, has been arrested and charged with:

  • 2 counts of Fraud over $5000
  • Mischief/Damage to Property not Exceeding $5000
  • Mischief Over $5000
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000
